2023 Middle GA STEM City Expo
The 2023 Middle GA STEM City Expo is a drop-in event and all are welcome. Training classes will be available throughout the day. The event is FREE and open to the public and no registration is required for attendance.
Event website: https://museumofaviation.org/moaevents/stem-city-expo/The goal of this event is to increase awareness of K-12 students, parents, and teachers about education and career opportunities in STEM-related fields. Community partners in education, business, and industry are needed to join the effort in sharing the importance of preparation for STEM careers. With the collaborative effort of all activity partners, we will send the message that “STEM is everywhere” and that STEM is a vital part of almost every organization and community.
Anyone with a STEM focus can facilitate an activity booth: museums, science and technology centers, colleges and universities, non-profits, professionals, companies, libraries, corporations, government agencies and more. The goal is to showcase high quality STEM-related organizations across the Middle GA area, all sizes, all industries, and all disciplines.
Event Guidance:- All STEM Partners must have an interactive, hands-on activity to encourage student learning.
- STEM Partners are not allowed to sell items at this event.
- STEM Partner space is limited and will be given out first come, first serve by approval. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible to secure a place. Please note: turning in an application does not guarantee acceptance into the expo.
- Applications will be reviewed for acceptance and notification of acceptance will be given via email.
- STEM Partners must notify of cancellations by July 28, 2023.
- STEM Partner areas are approx. 8′ by 8′. All areas are assigned based on STEM City Expo Planning Committee arrangements.
- STEM Partners must remain set up until 1:30PM on Saturday, Aug 12, 2023.
- Areas must be set up by 8:45AM Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, and disassembled by 2:30PM on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023.
- All vehicles must be moved to the identified parking area by 9:00AM on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023.
- STEM Partners needing electricity must say so on their application.
- STEM Partners needing tables must say so on their application.
- STEM Partners needing chairs must say so on their application.
- Indoor covering will not be offered.
- No explosive activities or displays allowed.
- No helium balloons allowed.
- No water, messy or slimy type activities allowed inside the hanger.
- Additional booth information, maps, permits, rules, and regulations will be sent out by Aug 1, 2023.
